KBR Promotes Olefins Technologies around the Globe

Publish date

KBR Technology has been on the road promoting its Olefins technologies at a number of events and conferences around the globe. Most recently, the team took part in the Ethylene Middle East Technology Conference (EMET) in Bahrain. The two day conference brought together technical experts from around the globe to share practical experiences, ideas and strategies on issues related to planning, design, operation and maintenance in the ethylene industry. KBR's team focused on its SCORE™ and K-COT™ technologies and the value they bring to customers in the industry.

During the EMET conference and exhibition, Kingdom of Bahrain's Minister of Oil, His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, visited KBR's exhibition booth and discussed ethylene technologies and ways that KBR can help the regional producers take on global challenges in light of current crude oil prices.

KBR's Rik Klavers, Vice President of Petrochemicals, participated in a panel discussion on "Flexible Technologies for a Competitive Advantage" where he talked about the importance of providing maximum product flexibility and while minimizing capital expenditures for Olefins producers. Taking the discussion forward, Klavers spoke about KBR's role in helping producers meet these goals and gave examples of the flexibility of KBR's technologies – specifically multi-feed cracking furnaces and combined cracker (steam and catalytic).

The EMET conference has become the main event for the ethylene industry in the region and KBR's presence at this event, through speakers, panel participants and the exhibit booth, signaled the importance of the event for the company.

KBR representatives participated in a multitude of meetings with senior management from petrochemicals units including SABIC, Saudi Aramco, QAPCO, BOROUGE and others during the conference and the team is looking forward to a number of other upcoming industry events.
